error in qt installation for konqueror
 
i want to install konqueror in my own folder,so first i compiled qt 3.3.8
i used ./configure --prefix=/home/qt
make
make install
it has installed in qt folder

but when i am running kdebase 3.5.8 i had given

It seems to me it should rather be something like :

./configure --prefix=/home/kde --with-qt-dir=/home/qt --with-qt-includes=/home/qt/include --with-qt-libraries=/home/qt/lib
You may try also more simply :

export PKG_CONFIG_PATH="/home/qt/lib/pkgconfig:$PKG_CONFIG_PATH"
./configure --prefix=/home/kde

because the configure script uses the pkg-config utility to get infos about needed packages installation.

even i had given this i am getting same error
i had compiled

i got same error as

even i had given export path it is taking usr/lib/qt/lib,but its not taking from my home folder /home/qt/lib

so how to solve this error,can u help me

if qt must be compiled with thread support,how to compile can u suggest me

You need to compile kdelibs 3.5.8 first, as kdebase depends on it.

Concerning the qt dependency, you seem to already have one version installed on your system and the found version seems to satisfy the configure script : Qt (>= Qt 3.3 and < 4.0). So why do you want another one?

And you didn't say what Linux distribution you are using and why you want to compile kde yourselves. Don't you have a package manager to install binary packages ?

To force to use your qt version, check if you have this file :
/home/qt/lib/pkgconfig/qt-mt.pc

If you have it, try :

./configure --prefix=/home/kde1/ --with-qt-dir=/home/qt --with-qt-include=/home/qt/include --with-qt-libraries=/home/qt/lib

If you have not it, I think your qt installation is not complete.

But you must compile kdelibs first, before kdebase, trying to use the commands given above with the kdelibs configure script.

An easier way is to install kde binary packages using a package manager.

You didn't give the right path.

SUSE has repositories to install KDE in binary rpm packages.
Why don't you want to use them ?

You have not one in this personal qt installation, it means that your qt installation is not conformed to what it should be.
