Error in Enabling Kdumb
 
Hi Exports,
I just want to enable kdump on my oracle linux unbreakable so i follow these steps.

1.vi /etc/grub/grub.conf
add crashkernel = 128M

after that reboot the system

and check that

vi /proc/cmdline

crashkernel not added here

also when try to start kdmup server got "FAILED" error

Do the change to /boot/grub/grub.conf

it was my typing mistake its already boot/grub/grub.conf

did you actually go and LOOK to see if that file is there ????

What version of Oracles clone of RedHat are you using ?

edit /boot/grub/grub.conf for rhel6 and rhel5


mind you any error you see about kdump is a bug
the error is meaningless and HARMLESS

yes i was wrong and the path i mention was typing mistake

it /boot/grub/grub.conf

i edited same file to enable kdump but unable start kdump service

my kdump snapshot attached
