Angry Error adding AptonCD disc as repository in Synaptic

I've used AptonCD to back up the packages I've downloaded from Synaptic's repositories onto discs. I'm now trying to add these discs as a local source for Synaptic, but I keep getting an error:

E:Unable to stat the mount point /cdrom/ - stat (2: No such file or directory), E:Unable to stat the mount point /cdrom/ - stat (2: No such file or directory), E:Failed to mount the cdrom.

I've tried with a dvd and cds, and I get the same result each time.

I've done a google search, and I've found references to this error going back many years, but I couldn't find any solution. It seems that Synaptic is hard-coded to look for a mount point that is no longer used - my discs mount as '/media/APTonCD' not '/cdrom'.

A few years ago I installed Ubuntu, and I had no trouble adding AptonCD discs as a repository source then.

Any ideas?

I'm using Linux Mint 9 and Gnome.

Ok I sorted this one out myself. While it seems to be impossible to add a disc as a repository via the Synaptic gui, I managed to do it in a terminal with this command:

sudo apt-cdrom add --auto-detect

That put the AptonCD dvd at the top of the repository list in Synaptic's sources.
