error


I installed gaim but when i try to run it i get the following error

gaim: error while loading shared libraries: libao.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

does anyone know what librarie is this.. or where to get it

first of all please tell which distro u r using.
If its rpm based, u need the package "libao". Its generally available on the distro cds.

Im using slackware9.1, i will check the cd for that tar.gz file.. hopefully i will find it

Slackware 9.1 Packages generally come in the .tgz format, especially the official ones. This library can be downloaded from this FTP site:

ftp://ftp.slackware.com/pub/slackwar...8.4-i486-1.tgz

But you can find it on your distro CDs under the /l folder.
