Unhappy Error 127 while setting up a mail server Please help!

I'm setting up a mail server on RH 9.0 using qmail with vpopmail. while trying to install ucspi I got the follwing error:

[root@mail ucspi-tcp-0.88]# make setup check
./compile tcpserver.c
./compile: line 3: exec: gcc: not found
make: *** [tcpserver.o] Error 127

The same happened while trying installing the daemontools I got:
./compile byte_chr.c
./compile: line 3: exec: gcc: not found
make: *** [byte_chr.o] Error 127
Copying commands into ./command...
cp: cannot stat `compile/svscan': No such file or directory

can anyone help me?

You just need to install gcc. Go to and download gcc for your RH9 distribution.
