I am sorry about the destruction of your disks: As a Novice, I'm not sure which disks you mean? Regarding Mr Roos, I can only suggest that you contact him with regard to his defametory actions/statements. All the best!

What was the result of the attempt to run fdisk? Can you post the output?

Have you found the menu entry to "check the medium" that PadreW mentioned? If your disk turns out to be flawed, you should be able to get a new one w/o charge (I hope). I realize that may not in itself solve your present problem.

I wouldn't really worry about it. The links seem to indicate that there is somebody with your last name who behaved rather shabbily. That sort of thing happens all of the time. Just be glad you don't have the same last name as a mass murderer.
