Erratic Mouse after Fedora Installation

Hi all...
I just installed Fedora and I'm using KDE. Since I installed, I haven't been able to move the mouse at all. It stays in the lower left hand corner and if I try to move it, programs launch themselves. I have read some other message boards which suggest disabling gpm. The problem is that I'm new to linux and I can't seem to get anywhere.
Does anyone have a suggestion or, even better, a solution? Thank you for any help.
