err at boot up.. help

Hello everybody,

keep getting the following error message at bootup:
your session only lasted less then 10 seconds. if you have not logged out yourself, this could mean that there issome installation problem or that you many be out of diskspace.. try loggin in with one of the failsafe sessions to see if you can fix this problem.
view details(~/.xsession-error file)

this just started happening today... installed linux 2 weeks ago and it running fine since...
I'm pretty new to linux, how do i fix this problem..
i am able to login as a root user so i logged in and rebooted but problem still remains..

It's a "hidden" file (starts with a period), in console mode you can view it by typing cat ~/.xsession-error.

By the way, ~ is short for your home dir. eg. Lets say your username is robin then ~ would point to /home/robin on most Linux systems.
