We were all newbies once and needed persons to guide us. This site has been a big help to me over the nine years since I started using Linux. You cannot imagine how excited I was when I realized I had learned enough to answer my first LinuxQuestion.
Linux is not hard. It is different.
About dot com has a pretty good Linux site oriented towards new and intermediate Linux users and you can find lots of tutorials on YouTube--just include "linux" in the search string. Going Linux also has lots of stuff, including an excellent podcast.
