EPSON C41SX Printer Problem

Please do not take serious note if this is a repeat of earlier thread.

I am having serious trouble in getting proper print from my printer, which is Epson Stylus C41SX. I am on Ubuntu 7.10. I have installed Gutenprint.

But whenever I am trying to print, from gnome-editor or from OpenOffice, I am only getting garbage as print. This is more strange because earlier I printed from Ubuntu even two days back. But that time too I had to reinstall Gutenprint.

Now even reinstalling does not work. When I select the model from printer setup, I found four or five drivers showing up. I chose all of them one by one but result is the same.

Please help.

Yes, I have been to there and downloaded the recommended driver. I had to make the deb file from the downloaded file. And after that I was able to print correctly but only once.

Then I did not print for two days. When I tried to print today I am getting this garbage.

In the meantime, I tried to print from Win. There too strangely enough, the first print came out nicely. Then I switched off the printer and later when I tried to take another print, same garbage printing happening.

So what I understand, this does not seem to be a problem with Linux driver, it is something else.

I will welcome any help in this regard.
