env varaibles at bootup

hello!

I would like to define env variables ORACLE_SID and ORACLE_HOME for apache at boot up time. The definitions in /etc/profile do not help at boot up time. The objective is to enable webserver retrieve data from Oracle database (on a different machine) and display it to users coming through web browser.

thanks

The easiest solution (if the variables just have a value and you don't need to change them) is to add the definition at the beginning of Apache starting script (it's usually /etc/init.d/httpd).
