Enlightenment questions - starting other WM's from within E
 

I've been playing with Enlightenment DR16 (on FC3 i386) for a couple of days. I have a couple of questions I'm hoping someone can help with:

1) Is there a native E file manager? All of the file managers I launch from the user menu apparently launch KDE or Gnome file managers. That's not a problem in itself, but whenever one of those apps launch it appears to bring that particular window manager with it (at least for gnome, which is the other WM I have installed). Which brings me to my 2nd question:

2) How does one start another window manager from within enlightenment? I've done it accidentally by launching the Gnome file manager, but is there a "correct" way to do it?

there are many file managers, do a google to find out more about this. (like the rox-filer, xfm, etc...)

if you want to launch a particular session, do:

startkde

or

gnome-session

I tried to read up on this, and found several references indicating you can run KDE/Gnome from within Enlightenment, but haven't seen a howto yet. I'm familiar with starting different window managers, and have a seperate .initrc for both E and Gnome, but just wasn't sure launching gnome-session from a terminal within E was the way to do it. Doing so *does* bring up gnome, but there is some general wierdness (video corruption), so I was wondering if there is a correct way to do it.

Also, my main question is whether there is a file-manager in E that does *not* bring up gnome when I launch it.

not one that comes with e16, you'd have to use something like rox or xfm.

If you have Gnome installed you can run the Nautilus file-manager. Open a terminal and type "nautilus --no-desktop" or if you want the desktop to lauch just type "nautilus"

The Enlightenment crew has a file-manager called Evidence, which I believe is part of E17, but I think it is way too glitzy.
