encoding techniques in thickserver


hi all
i want to know about the various encoding methods in linux thick server.what are the various overheads invloved in each?

I assume you mean the protocols that thick servers use to talk to thin clients? There are, I think, 3 heavy-hitters in the market today:

X11 - Popular since most Linux apps are written with it anyways
VNC - Another popular one
RDP - One popularized because it's what Windows uses

Google will give you all the info you could want on each.
