Thanks for the link.
I read the doc but doubt that where should I put entry to:
/etc/yum.conf contain:
Code:
[main]
proxy=http://<ip>:3128        ----<<< Should I add here?
proxy_username=<username>               ''
proxy_password=<passwd>                 ''
cachedir=/var/cache/yum
keepcache=0
debuglevel=2
logfile=/var/log/yum.log
exactarch=1
obsoletes=1
gpgcheck=1
plugins=1
metadata_expire=1800
When I run the command:
Code:
#yum install nagios
[root@localhost ~]# yum update
Loading "installonlyn" plugin
Setting up Update Process
Could not retrieve mirrorlist http://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/mirrorlist?repo=fedora-7&arch=i386 error was
[Errno 4] IOError: <urlopen error nonnumeric port: '3128?'>
Error: Cannot open/read repomd.xml file for repository: fedora
Am I doing anything wrong?

Do you connect to internet using some proxy username and password?
If you do not user authentication for proxy then put these lines in bash_profile of your user

Code:
http_proxy="http://mycache.mydomain.com:3128"
export http_proxy
