Enabling Sound Card?

Hey guys,
I had installed slackware 11 and I think the module of sound-card wasn't installed or something.

what shall I do?
(i think it's lsmod, modprobe related, though I a very beginner in that area, so tell me what to do to solve this :] thanks!

Run "alsaconf" in a terminal as root.

Run "alsamixer" in a terminal and unmute and turn up the volume.

Run "alsactl store" in a terminal as root to save your settings.

If you can't figure out your soundcard chipset, issue in a terminal
"/sbin/lspci | grep -i audio" and post the output.
