Enabling printer permission to user in suse linux 10.0

Hi,

I am using suse linux 10.0 version. I have a doubt in enabling permission to user to print.

As a root user I can able to print by executing the command line

echo "hello">/dev/lp0

But I can't print the same by logging in as user. It shows permission denied.

Please help me out to solve this problem.

Thanks

Hi,

welcome to LQ!

Is it imperative that you print to the raw-device? You could
try using the lpr system, for instance.

echo "hello" | lpr

Cheers,
Tink
