Emergency Emergency

I just got into Linux and I installed it on my kids computer figuring it would atleast play the simplest of games like reader rabbit or elmos preschool but then thats what I get for thinking and my 6 year old is a good kid but his patience is wearing thin with me, lol, so is there some software I need to download so it will install. It won't autorun and install like winows xp does and all I get is the cds to open so I can explore it. I have Mandrake 9.1 on it now and I do have Red Hat also I can put on so which is better??

It appears that this program is not for Mandrake. I'm probably wrong. I read the read me and could'nt even figure out how to install it. Like a said, I'm a new new newbie to L:inux. Which Linux program would be better for me, Red Hat 8.0 or Mandrake 9.1 or 8.1 or any other Linux program. Gota get this kid off my back and keep Linux to. Heheheh

Wine is a WINdows Emulator (lets you run windows progs on linux) It is compatable with Mandrake linux - download the most recent stable rpm and install using "rpm -ivh package.rpm"

Then read the wine documentation to see how to get your prog working.

I'm begining to believe that maybe linux is not for me because I havn't the foggiest idea what I'm doing with it. Seems that to do the littlest of things is now very difficult, even to install a small game for the kid.

You may find that doing the littlest of things is a bit more tricky in Linux compared to Windows but when or if you decide to do advanced things you will find Linux much better then Windows.
