Emerald stopped working after upgrading from gusty to hardy
 

WHY.......... does it have somthing to do with the window manager? why would emerald stop working after upgrading........ and i did try and uninstall and reinstall???? arg

Did you delete the configuration in your home folder? Maybe there is a conflict in the configurations between the old and new version.

I would create a new user account and see if it works there.

nope not it..... tried creating another user and then deleting the emerald directory from my home directory.. neither worked... thanks for the reply tho... still in a state of ARG!!!!!!!!!

If you start emerald manually from a terminal, do you get any errors?

it suggest the --replace option.. worked like a charm

now how do I get it to do it upon restart?
