Embedded linux on Geode LX, how to??

Hello,

My name is John and I am newbie en linux.
Well, I have a ETX module with Geode LX, and I would like to install embedded linux.
In this moment, I boot board with PXE and Root FS over NFS and it works fine.
Now, my problem is how to configurate a minimal system (tree files) in this board.
I tried to install suse in text mode and minimal support, but it is necessary 700 Mb, and it is too high.

When I compile kernel, I use make bzImage.

Is there other way to configurate minimal system???

Best regards
John.

You certainly don't want to be using a big desktop distro for something like this. You want to start with something small like Slackware or Debian, and even then, you would be going with as minimal a package set as possible. You might even want to try something like Puppy or Damn Small Linux, as they are already optimized for low-resource applications (though this comes at the expense of customization).

Thank very much, I will try it.

This may be what I want to try too. It takes minimal system like an older Pentium PC. You can use it as a live cd or you can install it. They have some applications that you can add to it, something called myextensions. Has anyone tried these and do they work without any problems?
