Email Domain Name Contains WWW

I'm a newbie, that's why I'm posting here!

Just installed Mandrake 10.1. Everything seems to be fine, except that my email is reporting it's FROM address as username at doubleu-doubleu-doubleu dot mydomain dot com. (This forum won't let me type in www!)

It should be username at mydomain dot com only.

I looked in both postfix and sendmail, the parameter doesn't seem to be in a config file for either of them. Is this an apache setting? Anyone know where/how I can change it?

The actual web server address is doubleu-doubleu-doubleu dot mydomain dot com, which is functioning fine. It's just the email is picking this up instead of just mydomain dot com.

When help mentions FQDN, does this mean the doubleu-doubleu-doubleu dot mydomain dot com or just mydomain dot com? Also, what is the canonical name?

Thanks for your help in advance,

This is very much a shot in the dark, but when I have to reconfigure my (pop3) mail account the Thunderbird setup dialogue 'guesses' my login name etc. incorrectly. So does the mail account wizard in Opera. I always have to edit them completely by hand. You can very easily make a mistake by accepting the suggestion. If something like this is also your case the account settings of your mail client itself may be the first place to look, e.g. for an automatically added reply-to address.
FQDN = Fully Qualified, so yes, the 3xdoubleu are included, as far as I know.
