emacs cannot open termcap database file
 
Can anyone help advise what I should do for the below error? I did some googling but didnot get any clue on how to fix this. Thanks.

[root@vmtest51 ~]# emacs
emacs: Cannot open termcap database file

Initially, I'd suggest you stop running emacs as root.
To tell you anything more, I think we'd have to know what distro you're using (since they implement $TERMCAP differently) and what kind of terminal emacs is coming up in.
