Editing Your Xf86config File (how)


I really am a newbie to linux just got mandrake 9.1 trying to install video drivers from NVIDIA i was able to exit X-server thanks MasterC.But when I try to edit my XF86config file it can not locate it /ect/X11/XF86config-4, I am in root, it seems to be not there.How does one really edit that file plz in newbie terms.Thank you for you time. Abvolt--->:-(

The only difference should be that you should use your XF86Config-4 file instead of XF86Config (this seems to be distro specific which file to use, mandrake uses XF86Config-4)

Try this to make sure you are looking for the correct file as well:
less /etc/X11/XF{TAB}
Where {TAB} is pressing the tab key. No spaces and no brackets, just tab. It will autocomplete for you, excellent tool.
