Question Editing the Lilo

Okay right off the bat I AM A NEWWWWBBBIIEEEEEEEEE !
You get the point. Like 2 days into Linux. Anyway How do you Edit the Lilo file? I'm trying to Dualboot XP & 7.2. I've read a bunch of pages about dualbooting the only problem is, is that they assume you know how to edit.
I am a full blown windows user and until the weekend have never seen a Linux OS. But WOW..........way cool. So any help you can give me is appreciatted.
Thanx
Jay

you can use a number of editors, the most common or what i prefer for quick edits is vi... it can be taunting at first to use.. but you would open a file like lilo.conf in this case as:

vi /etc/lilo.conf

your going to want to look up some common commands to use vi, like I puts you in Interactive mode and then you can edit..
to save you can do a ctrl + ZZ after editing the file.

man vi for more info.. and there are many others.. like pico, jed.. etc..

and just a FYI, always to make changes after editing lilo, run lio to make the changes by typing /sbin/lilo
