edit startup applications


where is the list of applications that are started automatically upon login? i currently have synaptic and evolution start every time i log in, and would like to take them off of this list. thanks in advance.

then

More likely, look through /etc/rc5.d

This is the directory that's run when you boot. The 'S' prefix means startup, the 'K' prefix means kill, for when you shutdown. If you're booting into the command line, it would be the /etc/rc3.d directory (or similar)
