edit lilo file in slackware

I have installed slackware and it works fine, but it seems that the swap is not loading at startup I don’t know why; I know that I have to configure the lilo file I am not sure how to do that with slackware, anyone can guide me?

Thanks.

lilo has nothing to do with swap-space.
check your /etc/fstab file for a swap part. entry.
( btw do you have a swap partition on hd. enabled and formatted ? )

Thanks egag.

I had to format it since I screwed up the swap thing.
I only have slackware now (used to have xp as well) but again I can only access slackware with having the bootable disk.

Don’t know where did I wrong although I have followed the instructions well in here.

Is hda2 your swap partition. If it is you may not have changed the filesystem to swap when you were using fdisk try fdisk -l If you need to change it change it with fdisk, chang it to 82 then exit fdisk then mkswap /dev/hda2 then swapon /dev/hda2 then check /etc/fstab

if you still can't boot Slack, maybe post the following here :

-the output of " fdisk -l /dev/hda" ( the same for /dev/hdb )

- your lilo.conf file

-your fstab file

that should give enough info....
