EDAC amd64: Eccdisabled in bios or no ECC capability

I built this computer recently
AMD IIX6 1090T cpu
ASUS M4A89GTD PRO USB3 MB
2- 4GIG DDR3
1- 2GIG DDR3
OS DEBIAN SQUEEZE

I only recently started using and noticed thes errors.

[ 6.108609] EDAC amd64_edac: Ver: 3.2.0 Oct 30 2010
[ 6.108841] EDAC amd64: This node reports that Memory ECC is currently disabled, set F3x44[22] (0000:00:18.3).
[ 6.108853] EDAC amd64: ECC disabled in the BIOS or no ECC capability, module will not load.
[ 6.108854] Either enable ECC checking or force module loading by setting 'ecc_enable_override'.
[ 6.108854] (Note that use of the override may cause unknown side effects.)
[ 6.108878] amd64_edac: probe of 0000:00:18.2 failed with error -22

I checked my system bios, ECC was not enabled because, when I setup mobo I selected system defaults instead of doing them manually. So I enabled them.
The message has not gone away.

I looked up the message and it shows in bug list.

https://patchwork.kernel.org/patch/78719/

1. Had I have enabled Ecc before installing Debian, would I be getting this message.
2.How do I apply patch.
3. I only have 3mem sticks instead of 4' should I take out the 3rd or add another?

I have a few more messages that relate to acpi.

Thanks in advance

I just went to the site that has the information on the patch, it shows that it can be downloaded.
Is there any updated kernel documentation on how to apply the patch without compiling new kernel?

Are you sure that the memory that you installed has ECC? Evidently your motherboard will support either type of RAM.

Thank you

it doesn't support ecc, is there any way to disable the message, while I move on to the next item on list?
