I have mandrake 9.1. I am trying to install a piece of software which when i run make gives me an error saying that it cannot find the command ed. I also had to install XMotif for this to run. The software website says that its best to run this on either sparc or alpha platforms. Could someone please explain how to get this ed running on my mandrake 9.1 machine and also. Which distro of linux could I get (open source) that would be most likely to run the software which says sparc or alpha platforms are ideal?
