Eclipse: .gdbinit file

Hello,

I am very new to Linux, and I am just trying out some C++ programming with Eclipse (version 3.5.2). I have written a very simple "Hello World" program, which compiled successfully. Then, when I run the program in debug mode, I get the following messages on the console:

-----------------------

Reading symbols from /homes/ej09/EO_Robot/icl/scene_association/test/Debug/test...done.
.gdbinit: No such file or directory.

Stopped due to shared library event

-----------------------

Can anybody please explain to me what the .gdbinit file is, and what these error messages indicate?

Thank you!
