hello to all this is the first time that i ever posted aney thing i bought an ebay usb obd2 interface and i could not get it to work in ubantu netbook i want to use my laptop to use when i fix a car to be able to read the codes well i just installed ubantu i never used linx before but for some reason i got it to install on my laptop i allways used xp but i am sick of the crashing and read that ubantu was very good way to use linux well that is where i am at and i need to do a whole lot of reading thank you in advance if you can help me i never used linux

First of all, please use some kind of punctuation in your post. It's very difficult to read entire paragraphs that contain no full stops or commas. Also, it's "Ubuntu", not "Ubantu".

Ok, so these ODB2 devices are for reading things from vehicle on-board computers. I don't know if Linux even has drivers for these kinds of device, but you might want to see this thread in case it has useful information. Maybe also try googling "Linux ODB2".

and see if it shows your usb as sdb1 or sdc1
