E17 Distro and Opinion
Hey guys
Lately ive become a fan of E17 using Bodhi Linux in VM. its very nice sleak and i dont see many downsides to it, especially since Compositing works out of the box with no need for 3D Acceleration But yet, it doesnt seem like a very popular WM, i dont see many screenshots around ubuntu with E17, mostly openbox/Windowmaker. So i was wondering what People think of E17, and distro's that utilise it, The good and the bad. Id also like to know which distro provides E17 + the most bleeding edge debian software. or with a ubuntu 11.04 base, most distro's i found are based on lucid ubuntu or debian 5 Theres ofc gentoo etc. but im abit afraid of gentoo haha |
E17 has always been a sort of experimental WM, so it has never really taken off like it should. It has a following, but you're right, it doesn't get nearly the exposure of the other WM's out there.
As for a distribution that uses it, you could of course install it in any modern distribution, but the only one I know that actually uses it by default is Yellow Dog Linux. |
