E: Type 'Reading' is not known on line 1 in source list
I replaced My MB and CPU and did a fresh Debian install today. Its amazing how much info I have forgotten in setup since its been many years, cant even install Thunderbird.
One of the errors I get is E: Type 'Reading' is not known on line 1 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ubuntuzilla.list Don't know why its pointing to that list. The list says; Reading package lists... Building dependency tree... Reading state information... How do I fix this? Thanks! |
/etc/apt/sources.list.d/ubuntuzilla.list is an invalid sources file. If that's all that file contains, remove it.

If your running Debian there shouldn't be anything *buntu related in your /etc/apt/sources.list.
Are you running Jessie or Testing (Stretch)? |
Debian GNU/Linux 8 (jessie) 64-bit
I wiped the machine and started again to make sure, I thought the "Ubuntu" thing was weird, so its working now, Thanks :) |
