E-mailing system logs

Okay, I have a Red Hat 8 box running SAMBA. It's administered from Webmin. I'd like to have the system logs e-mailed to me daily, but I can't get it working. I tried directing the e-mail to our mail server with no luck, then setup Postfix on the server to mail it directly to me. Still no luck. I'm kind of embarrassed to ask, but can someone tell me how to set this to my logs can be mailed to me?

Thanks a ton.

May I suggest using logwatch? Instead of e-mailing the entire log, it parses it, and e-mails you just the log entries that look suspicious or are interesting in some manner. That way you don't have to loog through the entire log file.

If you really need the log file, however, you can probably set up a cron job to scp (secure copy) the files to your account on the remote machine.

Thanks. For logwatch to e-mail do I need to have a e-mail server running on the machine to send it out?

Strangely, I can e-mail from the machine just fine by either using our in-house e-mail server or by setting up Postfix to e-mail directly to me, but it just won't e-mail logs even though it appears to be setup correctly.
