E-mail Server

Hello friends. I´m very new in Linux stuff. Actually, I´m in a new job and I need to install a mail server for the company. I need to do this in Red Hat 9. Someone told me I can use MySQL to manage user database....
1.-How I build the mail server?
2.-How link it with mySQL to manage users?

Thanks in advance for your help.

you really can't actually epxect answers just from that i hope.... you need to firstly realise that there is no "Mail" server available... serving email is a bunch of seperate servers, e.g. smtp (qmail, postifx, sendmail, exim), pop3, imap (wu, cyrus, courier, dovecot) etc... you need to choose each piece of functionality to suit your own needs and preferences, one such one then being ones which can support a userbase via mysql.

I strongly recommend you try to persuade them to use a recent version. RH9 is way old and not support4d by RH, only Fedoralegacy (http://www.fedoralegacy.org/), and I'm not sure how long that will last.
Try either RH FC4 or 5, or if you really want a commercial version of Rh free, go to Centos http://www.centos.org/
