DVD Umount and Divx Codec
 

Hi,
Ý have few questions.

First; I mounted my DVD Rom as cdrom1 and used it succesfully. But I couldn't umount it.

/mnt/cdrom : device is busy.

I got this warning. What should i do?

Second; I want to install divx codec. I have xmps-0.2.0.tar.gz
How can i install this and its plugins? I don't know the command. Please write in idiot speak.

you can't unmount it because you're probably in a directory on the cd. make sure you're not.

xmps? never heard of it... looks very old, out dated and unmaintained. delete it and use a decent player. http://mplayerhq.hu

Ok i will download it but you should tell me how can install it. and I'm sure i'm not in a directory on the dvd.

please read the mplayer docs and the hundreds of posts on this site.

as for the dvd... keep looking. you might have su'd to root after going into that dvd or something... bet you soo much money you'll be in it somewhere.

ok, i'll read to install mplayer. but I really sure, I'm not on a directory in the dvd or I'm not using any program from that dvd. but still taking same warning.
