dvd trouble
 

I just recently installed mandriva free 2007 version and am trying to figure a few things out. kaffeine is telling me when i try to play a dvd that it cannot be played because the source cant be read and goes on to say that there are no plugins to handle this resource. I would like a little better dvd program but am trying to figure out how to go about fixing things for now. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Well, can I assume this is a media DVD as in movie? Or is it a Data DVD? Personally, I use mplayer to play DVD's (movies), has both graphical and console.

Yeah its a media dvd... sorry bout that. Il check out mplayer. Have any idea what the issue is with the plugins though?

Probably don't have the codecs or libdvdcss or whatever it is that is needed to play DVD's. Checkout the mplayer site, should have plenty of information to play DVD's.
