dvd-r errors

hey guys, a friend of mine burned a dvd for me w/ some video files on it, and when i got home i try to copy it to my comp, but the files will not copy because it contains errors, so i try to copy it again on xp pro, it still wont copy, and i even try to use DVD X RESCUE on it, but nothing helps...... does anyone know a program that will fix the errors on a optical disk?? thanx

PS: it doesnt matter if the program is for xp or linux, i am in need of the files on it, much thanx to the master who can solve this problem

Sounds like a bad burn or dodgy media. Either way, I don't think you're going to get your files off that disc.
