DVD playback problems..

Im having trouble watching dvds on laptop.i usally dont watch them on laptop. This Is first i have seen problem.When I use mplayer or smplayer it looks like in pic.when i use xine it wont play movie saying it is encrypted...but i do have libdvdcss installed.With VLC player it just shows pixelated squares.I tried to uninstall libdvdcss and reinstall but didnt work.anyone else have this using Debian lenny and libdvdcss is from VLC repo's.
heres link to what it looks like under mplayer..Mplayer will play the movie but its all messed up....

and thats the best screenshot..the rest are just a blur of color..
