Smile DVD, MP3, Divx etc. specific distro

Hi everybody!

I'm REALLY new to Linux and this is my first post!

After playinmg a bit with Knoppix I tried to install Debian, but failed. Now I have Lycoris in an old machine and everything seems easy . However, I would like to find a distribution that exactly suits my needs.

I plan to leave the computer as an mp3, dvd, divx, audio etc. player. That's the only thing I want it to do, no games, no offie, just that.

I found Mulimidix (sysconfig dot info) but its in german so I can't use it. However, its description is what I want: "Mulimidix is a mini Linux distribution for building a PC-based set-top box and multimedia player system with digital TV, MP3, DivX, etc. support, using VDR, Freevo and other tools. "

Due to the fact that I'm a total newbie it would need an easy install.

The specs of the comp are:

PII, 350Mhz, 96 MB Ram, 1.7+5GB HDs, DVD unit. I plan to buy a video card with TV out.

I just downloaded Peanut Linux, maybe that was a good choice?

Thanks a lot!

Movix and Movix2 (basically a GUI Movix) are "live CD" distros that can handle all that. I don't know if there is an installable distro like that though.
