dvd drive

Hi I am using a new install of Gutsy, which seems great
except it does not recognise my DVD burner.
I have an Intel Imac running Parallels.
This problem has never shown up on any other Linux.
Many Thanks.

Firstly, is your drive internal or external?

Have you got any other CD/DVD drives in your pc? I've had problems with more than one drive before with Ubuntu/kubuntu. There doesn't seem to be a page listing all compatible dvd burners with ubuntu, but I'll keep looking.
