Dualbooting with Vista
Does simplyMepis support dualbooting with Vista home premium? I've had a lot of bad luck with OpenSuse doing this or not as the case is. I am a total newbee so a very simple answer on how to do it would be great/

Hi and welcome to LQ, to answer your question the best I can. If you use default installation I would think Suse would be the easiest to install but you can give Simply Mepis a try without installing. It is a live cd, just insert the cd and then restart your computer and check it out. If you do not like Simply Mepis give one of the other live cds a try, that is the beauty of linux.

Mepis has Grub that can boot any number of MS systems. So is the Grub in Suse.
Vista boot loader (BCDedit) can boot 150+ Linux if you've got them. You can mix the two together too. |
This is what I used to run Ubuntu Linux(or any other distro) in a dual boot with Winblows Vistasuck. The guides are very easy to follow and have screen shots. Here is the only link you need http://apcmag.com/node/5162/

SimplyMEPIS itself doesn't need to support dual-boot with vista, the bootloader that it uses does, but grub can boot just about any operating system
