Dual monitors are a possibility

I'm fairly new to linux and x-servers, etc.. but i've already been though 2 distros. and have everything configured nicely.

Recently i got a new monitor and decided that multiheading (i think it's called) would be a good idea instead of just getting rid of my old monitor.

I went into windowsxp ( ) and set up the dual monitors in seconds. Everything works fine.

That was only a test to see if my cards could handle it, now i want to be able to do it in linux as well.

This isn't really a hardware question yet, since i'm still deciding if i should do this in linux or if i should just keep it how it is for now.

I just want to know if it's easy to set this up or not... ive read many stories about people not knowing how to get it working... i hope i don't become one of them

also, I have 2 video cards... one is ati radeon the other is nvidia gforce4... the gforce4 doesn't have support for 2 monitors but the radeon does....

in windows i have it like this: Gforce4 is my primary monitor and Radeon is the secondary... (i want to be able to still use both cards since the gforce runs better)

soooo, is it possible to configure 2 cards and 2 monitors? If so, what would be my first step?
