dual monitor question/kde

i have installed mandrake 9.1 on a system with two monitors. i am using kde and am wondering if it is possible to move a running appliation from one monitor/desktop to the other.

in windose i can just drag it from one monitor to the other, but was wondering if it is possible to do it with kde.

thanks

you need Xinerama, have a google for info about it. FYI, This operates outside of KDE, so works with most common window managers.

dual kde taskbars in xinerama?

Now that I ahve Xinerama enabled, I was wondering, is it possible to have
each screen display a different desktop, and have its own taskbar on the bottom?
I'll get RSI from moving the mouse across the screens all the time. It would be so much easier if I could just tell screen#2 to always display desktop#2 and then I could make hotkeys for pushing windows in and out of the other desktops.

Any ideas?

This is partly dependant on your hardware. What graphics card are you using? If it supports Dual Head operation then you can set it up in the XF86config file. ATI has more on it here:

There are a number of articles posted on the topic in the hardware forum. Try searching that.

I actually have a Matrox G550 - is there a similar link describing how to get it working with that?
