Dual Homed -- Routing Mail

Routing mail

I new to Linux and am looking for some direction:

I have two physical networks, one Microsoft and one Linux. I have a Linux Client 5.2 that has two network cards (one on each network) that allows me to ssh into the Linux network from the Microsoft side.

On the linux network I have a machine that needs to send mail (reports and status) to the Microsoft side (via Exchange) What do I need to do to the dual-homed linux machine to get it to act as a mail forwarder. I can handle anything on Microsoft side once it gets over there.

Again, Sorry for the newbie Language – still learning, but liking it very much!

Hi,

You didn't say what mail server is running on the linux box (I guess the distro is Centos or RHEL).
For sendmail you need Exchange to be the smarthost and for postfix you need it to be the relayhost. Use google to see how to do the setup according to the MTA (mail server) you're using.

Regards
