Dual-homed machine

What does dual-homed machine mean?

I guess it travels a lot :)

Maybe it has two alternative /home directories.... Not a term I've heard.

I google enough. He can google his own stuff :)

Now mind you, I have a smoothwall box and I'm on the smoothwall list where it's very common to see boxes with two or three network cards for the green, red and orange network - and I ain't ever heard this term, so I don't know who came up with that silly name...

Usually means machine that is physically connected to two different servers of same or similar types. But could also mean connected to your internal LAN server and external ISP ... or Samba server 1 and Samba server2. It depends on the context in which dual-homed is used.
