Dual Display in Red Hat 9

Hey everyone, quick question.

I have a AGP nvidia Geforce 2 MX and a PCI ATI Rage card with 2 15" LCD displays running Red Hat 9. I've set it up correctly and both work. But what I really want is the xinerama or whatever it's called. However, the rage card only supports 16 bit color. Is the only way to make this work to run both displays at 16 bit? That's a waste to me. I turned it off so each monitor is it's own desktop, but how do I moev an application from one screen on to another? Even when I execute a program that's on the second monitor it loads on the first. Thanks.

without xinerama there is now way to do this, any reason you can't just use 16 bit on both screens? do you actually know that you can't mix colordepths? i've not tried it myself i admit, but it may well be possible, especially on X 4.3
