Dual booting XP/MDK 10.1 problem

Hello everyone!

Let me start off describing my previous working configuration:

I had C, D and E drive and a Windows XP Pro. I had the XP on C and installed Mandrake Linux 10.1 on drive D successfully and one day I decided to format my hard disk and install everything once again.

Now, I partitioned my hard disk like:

10 GB for drive C ( Windows XP installation )
20 GB for drive D ( Windows XP programs )
and the rest of 80 GB I left it for Linux.

I installed Windows with no problem and as I tried to install Linux, I let it automatically partition the 80GB.
I installed LILO as my boot loader and then, when it asked me to install updates, I clicked OK and after sometime I got error messages regarding linux being unable to install the updates. It gave me two option to continue installing the rest of the updates or exiting. I chose EXIT and it restarted.
After my computer was up, it just showed: "L" and got stuck.

I tried to reinstall the lilo by inserting installation CD and typing rescue in the prompt. but it didn't help.

Any ideas?

Thanks alot!!

A.R.N.

First off reinstall Linux again and don't use the update utility.

If you are desperate to use XP again you can use rescue mode from the XP CD.
