Dual boot without touching the MBR?

I've installed linux before.. and managed to get the dual boot working.. but when I do it alters the MS MBR..
How can I install Linux on this machine and have it dual boot without altering the MBR? (floppy? CDrom?)

well you can use syslinux to make a boot disk for the linux system, which will boot from the disk only. what i'd suggest though is following the device here:

Hi senectus

You'll get a choice when installing your disrtibution were you want to put the bootloader - just put it on a floppy disk - and boot from that to get inot your Linux distribution

You could make a small partition and install xosl there - www.xosl.org

Well, that also depends from your windows version. I used to use the WinNT bootloader to load linux too. You don't have to touch the MBR then, either. And I guess µsoft liked it :D.
