Dual boot with 2 hard drives

I was wondering about setting up a system with a Win98 SE 30Gb hard drive and a 30 Gb hard drive set up with a Linux distro such as Ubuntu? Then just change operating systems by changing the primary boot device in the BIOS option setup. I've got all of the parts I'd need except maybe a spare mouse.
Who has done this before?
