Dual boot WinXP and Slackware9.1

Hi

Recently I upgraded my processor and RAM. Now I have a P4 2.4 processor and 256 mb RAM on Intel 845GVSR motherboard.

I replaced my HDD and monitor from my old PC. This HDD was dual booting with Win 98 and Slack 9.1 booting with GRUB

I installed Win XP in place of Win 98 and now it directly boots to XP and no GRUB menu is seen
Questions

1. Do I have to boot into slack thru floppy or CD and reistall GRUB
2. How do I dual boot Win XP and Slack with GRUB or any other boot loader

Thanks

Ninad

yes you have to reinstall grub, I think the command

/sbin/grub-install hda1

does the trick, check the man pages though. The problem will be that you will not have XP to select from the menu. You will have to edit the /boot/grub/grub.conf file and add XP as one of the bootable devices.

Do some googling for the correct commands to boot XP with grub

Just to note something: It depends what kernel your using.... Kernel 3.6 changes the geomaty of the hard drive and f**ks over windows... just becarefull here!
