Dual boot: Win2K Pro w/ SuSE 6.4

I have Win 2000 installed on a 9.5 GB HD w/ 1.21 GB free, and i wanted to install SuSE 6.4 ( I found the CDs @ a freinds house, and he said i could have em). How would i do this? I want to keep Windows, and would also like to have Linux on a seperate drive. is this possible? I ahve seen HD switchers, but they seem like a pain.
Any help is appreciated. thanks in advance.

Greetings and welcome
I haven't had any experience with 6.4, but normally one would just boot to CD 1 and perform the install, which should be fairly straight forward. Partitioning, package selection and a bootloader install (the HD switcher). GRUB install in 9.0 and 9.1 is actually quite painless.

So, if i install SuSE on the same drive as Windows, it will partition the drive for me, and i can use a bootloader (Lilo, i assume) instead of a hardware HD switcher. And, my W2K install will be unharmed??

Is your 1.21GB partitioned? If it is partitioned, you should be fine. I dualed my winxp pro w/ suse 9.1. Use the partitiioner that comes with suse to delete and create your swap and ext3 parttions from the extended partition. It will install GRUB bootloader during the installation process. You're win2000 will remain untouched. Just be sure not to delete the wrong partition =)
